If I were to ask who have been the five most precious people you have been fortunate enough to know throughout your lifetime, the names you are likely to mention may be family, friends, partners, co-workers you may have known for years or mere acquaintances you only knew for a few days. Whoever the people may be, it is almost certain they are one of life's givers.
A lot of people will be able to name fifty or more people that they have had contact with for any length of time, but not all will be able to identify five people who truly matter to them.
The reason for this is simple The takers we meet in our life far outweigh the generous, good natured people who use their personality and charitable nature to truly make a positive difference to our life, often without realising it.
Think back to the moments in your life that bring a smile to your face. It's easy to think of family events and the enjoyment of others that have given you pleasure, but there will only be a few magical times that relate directly to you. The moments that you call on to put a smile on your face in difficult times.
Unexpected compliments are always welcome and are extra special when they come from somebody who is respected by you. A few pleasant and unexpected words from a giver that you have only recently met will mean a lot more than day to day words a friend or family member has to say.
There are plenty of takers that inhabit our personal world. Some of the closest people to us may be prepared to listen to our problems and fears but will also expect our help and assistance in return. While there is nothing wrong with this, the true giver will give a compliment, advice or a shoulder to cry on with no expectation of repayment emotionally or financially.
We know that these amazing people are very hard to find. When they do come along, they are capable on making a positive impact on our life for the time we remain on earth. These people are to be admired and cherished.
The opportunities that we all have to enhance a person's life are countless. A moment passing a heartfelt compliment to a person we encounter in our life may stay in their memory for ever. There will possibly come a time when they rely on your well thought words for comfort or to put them in a positive frame of mind for an important event about to take place in their life.
Ask yourself if you are likely to have appeared on the list of the most five important people of anybody you have once known or are still in contact with today. If you feel that you are currently seen as one of life's takers, it is worth finding the time to try to make a positive impact on somebody's life without wanting or expecting anything in return. If you can make the top five precious people on at least one person's list, you will have something far more important than a taker is likely to receive during their lifetime the respect, love and eternal thanks of a person whose life you have changed for the better.
