Almost everything is in place for your wedding, and it seems like its going to be a great and unforgettable day. Unfortunately, though, you and your fiance cannot decide upon a song for your first dance as husband and wife. This does not have to be a stressful thing, and should be an enjoyable part of the wedding planning. For some people, the song choice will come easily, but for those couples who don't have as easy of a time, there are a few suggestions for picking a song for that first dance as husband and wife.

1. Consider a song that means something special to both of you- This could be the song that was playing the first time the two of you kissed. It could be the song that was playing when you met. It could be the first song the two of you ever danced to. It might even be the song you consider "our song." The song for you first dance could even be a song from a movie you both love. For whatever reason, this song is a special song to both of you, and it's going to be even more special if it's the song that's your first dance at your wedding. Of course, even if it's a special song to both of you, that doesn't always mean it's the right song for your first dance as husband and wife. It is worth considering, though.

2. Make a list of your top choices- Both you and your future spouse can come up with a list of 10, 15, 20, or whatever number you want, of songs you think might be good for your first dance. Then you can compare lists. See if you have any of the same songs or at least some songs that are similar. Although you may not use any of these songs, it might get you headed in the right direction.

3. Ask friends and family for advice- Think of the songs that were the first dances at friends or family members' wedding or ask them what song was their first dance song. Although you probably won't want to use the same song, it might make you think of a similar song or another song by the same artist. You can also ask family and friends for suggestions. Maybe they'll think of a song that's perfect for the two of you that neither of you even thought about.

4. Listen to old songs or songs you've never heard before- If when looking at the songs you know, you can't find a song that is perfect for the two of you, listen to old music. Look the songs up online on music sites, listen to them on CDs or on your iPod, or find them other places. You might find that the best song for the two of you was written years before either of you were even born. As an alternant, listen to songs you've never heard before. This could be new songs or songs in a genre you don't normally listen to. You may find that a song you've never heard before is the perfect song for you and your soon-to-be spouse's first dance as a married couple.

5. Make a sacrifice- Like everything else in a relationship, the song for your first dance at your wedding might have to come down to at least one of you making a sacrifice. If one of you cares more about what song you dance to, let that one pick the song or have that one pick a few songs for the other to pick from. You could also make some sort of compromise when it comes to the song. For example, you pick a song that was neither of your top picks but that meets in the middle. However you decide to pick the song for your first dance as a married couple, good luck. I hope you find the perfect song for you both.
