So many descriptions come to mind
Stroke of luck and piece of good fortune
as I relate years past, I wonder
was it those things and so much more?
To question true love, is it unbecoming?

Perhaps from the world's beginniing,
It was written that forever we would be
free to celebrate this great marvel,
this joy, this happiness mixed with pain
where in my heart you will forever dwell.

Through it all we've remained steadfast,
as we nourished the love we shared.
Young, naive and adventurous we 
navigated a world not always kind
yet, our love nothing could ever deter.

Together we blazed hot sultry trails,
and withstood life's challenges and tests.
We endured and pursued when others crumbled,
we resisted and moved on when others failed,
we survived with joy when others were humbled.

You see love, you continue to be my treasure.
My greatest wealth and hopes are in you.
Forever, you will be my joy and my salvation.
Forever and to eternity you will be mine alone.
Forever my blessing, my true consolation.
