Why women should avoid red dye in food

ingredient labels and looking for red dyes. Removing these from your diet for a few weeks sure couldn't hurt, and it just might make you feel better. Keep a diary of what you eat and how you feel for awhile too. It's much easier to see long term similarities this way.

Your children might also benefit from a diet without red dyes. Many of these added dyes have also been linked to adverse reactions in children much like add, adhd and many other hyperactivity and tantrum type problems. These problems are all common side effects of injesting these dyes. Red candy, soda and jarred cherries. Red and pink Kool-Aid's and Jell-O's. Popsicles and fruit roll ups. The list of foods goes on and on. Everywhere I look there is food I was poisoning myself and my children with. Food I was so attracted to, drawn to, red flavors were always the best to me. I was most attracted to what was my worst enemy.

There was a time I actually thought fruit snacks were healthy. I was so naive.
For some people red dyes never cause weird rashes or bad headaches or any other medical problems. They can drink all the Kool-Aid and eat all the skittles they want. Lucky them. For others like me however, they will suffer from these ailments for years before most likely figuring out on their own that they have some level of sensitivity to red dyes. I had spent thousands of dollars on tests and therapies before discovering my own problems with red 40. In a world without red dyes there are a lot of things I do without, I am just thankful that migraines happen to be one of them.
