When Angels Cry
Raindrops falling from on high
Grandma said "That's what happens
When the angels cry"
She held my hand, to comfort me
Mom wasn't there, you see.
Her water broke late at night
We woke early, to sense some fright
Something wrong, just not right
Be strong and pray
She held my hand and told me what to say
And the angels cried as we walked that day.
Lightening struck overhead
I feared it meant my mom was dead
We kept on talking
Kept on walking
And spoke to Jesus, small and new
We asked Him to see us through
Then came an end to the pouring rain
The sun came out and shone again.
I saw a lady made of light
Said I was sorry for my fright
But grandma couldn't see
The lady as she smiled at me
Then came a call
Mom was with us after all.
