Poetry: Pain

As My Dream Unfolds

It's another classic case of profound illusion
damaged minds gone crazy from overload
Wreaking of failure's stinch, cursed by sin's wickedness
this one's been gone for some time, the body's cold

Death's laugh echoes on the winds
as he concludes his endeavors
Black bags, filled with now
wasted lives go on forever

And within and eye's blink time has taken it's toll
my heart aches as my dream unfolds

One soul weeps for another, finding no peace
praying for mercy, unselfishly
Still licking his friend's wounds
like a dog, desperately

Begging, offering his own soul, just
for Death to have sympathy
But Death only mocks him, taking his friend's last breath
laughing loud with insanity

I walk along, invisible, unseen, unheard by all,
through the mountains of tragedy and despair
Trying not to choke on the stinch of pure hell
pushing toward me, owning the air

I read the toe tags before me, all of them say, name unknown
and my heart aches, my soul cries, as my dream unfolds
