With the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing looming ever closer it would probably be best to take a glimpse at how this event will affect incomes and more importantly the stock markets of the host country of China, which currently has the most successful investing market in the world. We will first look at the company responsible for creating the tickets for the games. After that I will discuss the much broader tourism and airline markets into China, before finishing with a sports equipment company that also stands to benefit. As a conclusion I was also include an analysis of these companies stocks as well as predictions of there possible out comes.
According to the Municipal Beijing science and technology commission approximately 16 million RFID embedded tickets will be used at the Olympic Games. These micro processors were designed and manufactured by Tsinghua University and Beijing Tsinghua Tongfang Microelectronics as a secure method of transferring information easily. What makes this company's product so special is that they have exclusive rights to produce these special tickets which are nearly impossible to counterfeit which in turn cuts losses down by a great deal both for the games and for the company itself. Since there is also the likelihood of this technology going inter-national which mean even bigger profits and less money loss due to illegal copying. Another benefit of these tickets is that they are being printed on recyclable paper and using recoverable circuitry in the RFID chips meaning even greater profits and less loss of gains.
Another set of stocks that will benefit from the Olympic Games in Beijing will be the tourism market in general. It is estimated that whenever the Olympics are held in a country that countries tourism market rose by a full 25% above what it previously was and tend to hold steady at that for two months before the games and up to two years after them. The most likely to increase will be airlines like Air China, Chinas largest commercial airline. This companies stock have jumped 114% alone in the past year when they announced they were going to fly to Britain, France, Russia, and the United States as the 2008 fuel demands mean more flights to Beijing for the games. With the massive influx of people that the games will bring even investing in simple vending machines will yield a large turn around if kept well stocked.
Finally a company by the name of Li Ning, a sports company that specializes in making shoes has had a 82% jump in its value recently with the demand for sports related shoes and equipment climbing as the games draw ever closer. This company was named for a former Olympic winner in the 1984 Olympics and has been in business nearly as along since those games occurred. This investment like the travel agency and airline investments is a hot topic item since they show the greatest curve gaining large sums during the Olympics before declining back to normal approximately a year after ward. The decline however doesn't start till around three months after the games so this will give investors time to make there own decisions on stocks.
The safest option is the RFID technology which has a steady outlook climb for the next five years with little risk of loss. The tourism and airline stocks will also climb rapidly before tapering off slowly as people head back to there normal lives. The sports equipment company has the quickest spike attaining the highest chance of large cash out but it also begins falling sooner as well. Each of these companies stocks falls under varying degree of invest meant from a safe long term investment to a rapid quick pay one.
