Questioning amalgam mercury effects on brain development

Although the article on the study of "amalgam mercury effects on brain development" was interesting, even though it found no brain development effects, I can not buy into these study results. It's not that the source was not reputable. I have no idea if they are or are not? Since the said study was conducted on children outside of the United States, the data reflects little to those in the USA. I have personally heard many reports, and read many articles, in regard to mercury and it's relation to Autism, with infant vaccines, amalgam fillings, fish, environmental factors, ectcetera, where it is claimed there are no connections with Autism. I have also heard reports from doctors, that enough studies have "not" been conducted to prove there is no connection either. As far as fish are concerned, children are not big consumers of fish, but when it comes to Autism, and finding the source responsible, for civil responsibility, you can't sue a fish, so those who live with Autism every day, and their families, are in a constant plight to eliminate Autism in children, as well as generate funding to help cover the enormous costs associated with raising a child with Autism. Some government officials are finally paying attention now that their constituants, and even family members, have Autism, and these government officials are starting to take actions to make a positive difference in the lives of these families living with Autism.

True, the article points out that parents were concerned about the levels of mercury used in the amalgam substance to fill caveties. Parents still are concerned with any mercury, in any amount, where children are concerned, especially those on the Autism Spectrum. It was good to see that the other metals were listed in the article, and that they too do break down and can cause complications. What was not mentioned in the article, that I believes deserves merit, is that it has been found with Autistic individuals, that they do not process the breakdown of heavy metals the same as "regular" folks, and therefore many Autistic folks go through different methods of trying to detoxify the body of heavy metals. It is important to note that anyone planning to go through detoxification of heavy metals, must make sure to work closely with a doctor, as in the expultion of heavy metals, also includes the expultion of important nutrients, and the patient could become severely ill, or die, with the depletion or expultion of these important nutrients. I believe that having amalgam fillings removed is a good idea and to also use non amalgam fillings whenever possible, especially in children, and especially with the Autism rate being 1 in 500 children in America.

The Internet has a plethera of information in regard to Autism, heavy metals, and detoxification, that parents and individuals can research and talk with their doctors about.

I hope my comments help folks to explore dental care options to best determine what is best for themselves and their loved ones.
