Pizza, like any food, is only as healthy as it is made. Unfortunately, it is made full of saturated fats, unwanted calories and everything that a health and nutrition enthusiast tries to avoid - this of course means that Pizza is NOT healthy and should NOT be included in ANY dietary routine.

What people fail to realise is that in most countries such as the United States Of America, Great Britain and Australia is that pizza is a fast food. There are very few countries in the world that still make pizza to be a healthy family treat, and those that still do, it is often limited to a select few families where the tradition and trade has been passed down from generation to generation over the course of the family's history. Therefore, I personally see pizza as an unhealthy meal option for anyone and it should without a doubt be treated as it is now intended during modern times; as a treat and a one-off snack, not something to eat and over indulge on throughout a daily basis.

Many popular food chains such as Domino's, Pizza Hut and Perfect Pizza create their pizzas quickly to be delivered to homes in the least time possible. While they are indeed made naturally using natural ingredients, the dough is often fatty and the way it is quickly fried and cooked to get it to the destination in the fastest time possible makes it full of highly saturated fats that when over indulged on create potential health hazards and related illnesses such as unwanted weight gain which can lead to more serious medical issues such as obesity and depression. In some cases, a simple slice of pizza can contain more calories and saturated fats than you should have in your daily diet to begin with; imagine eating a whole pizza to yourself, think about what you are putting in your body. Is that something you would like to do on a daily basis, no matter how tasty and delicious it may be? The main thing to consider is the health aspect. Treat pizza as a treat, not a meal.

Of course, there are cases where Pizza can actually be healthy for you, and the best way to make sure the pizza you are eating is healthy is quite simply to make your own. The only way to make sure that what you are eating is healthy is to make it yourself so you can see EXACTLY what ingredients are going into the meal and exactly what is going in your body when you eat it. In all honesty, no matter what these fast-food pizza chains promise and tell you, that is the only way to be a hundred percent certain that the pizza you are eating is healthy. Prepare and make it in the healthiest dough possible and cook it slowly under the grill or in the oven and avoid frying at all costs. A lot of the times, it is the precautions taken before cooking that help you put only the best things into the pizza.

Steer clear of Pizza if you are a fan of healthy wellbeing and diets. There is no harm in the odd pizza every now and then; we all deserve a treat from time to time, am I correct? However, that is all it should be. A one off treat and nothing more; take care not to over indulge in this highly unhealthy food.
