is, are you planning on dancing to club music for the rest of the night? Frank Sinatra might be out of place for a first dance then)
Is there anything we would want to "model" our first dance after? (For example, my husband and I danced to "Moon River" by Henry Mancini because it's the theme to Breakfast at Tiffany's, one of our favorite movies)
Once you have answered those questions if you are still stuck or you can't agree you can always hop on your favorite search engine and type in "first dance songs" or something along those lines. I have compiled a small list of songs that I find to be unique and non-clich (I hate clichs) that might work for your wedding:
"Islands in the Stream" by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton
"Betcha By Golly, Wow" by the Stylistics
"If I Should Fall Behind" by Bruce Springsteen
"Standing Right Next to Me" by Karla Bonoff (I LOVE this one, in fact I almost walked down the aisle to this song)
"Lost in this Moment With You" by Big and Rich (it's a smidge clich but still a great song)
"The Way You Look Tonight" by Frank Sinatra
"Can't Take My Eyes off of You" by Frankie Vallie and the Four Seasons
"Feels So Right" by Alabama
No matter if you choose to go with a "traditional" first dance song like "At Last" or choose something totally off base like my husband and I did with "Moon River" just remember that those few minutes on the dance floor with your new spouse are meant to last forever in your hearts and minds and the memory of the song you dance to should last just as long.
