At age 11 Taylor made her first visit to Nashville where she walked up and down Music Row and handed out her demo tapes that she made with her singing along to Karaoke Songs. After that she was asked to sing at the US Open Tennis Tournament. Shortly after she signed a record deal but backed out because she is quoted as saying "It wasn't where she wanted to be". At age 12 she began visiting Nashville and while in Nashville she would write songs with some of the local songwriters.
