The Vulpine Lullaby
Sleep young one, rest your head
Return soothingly to your earthen bed
Rest those weary eyes that long for sleep
Trust my love for you ill keep
Rest young vulpine in your hallow
Fear not the distant wolf's mournful howl
Let your dreams have no woe
And let your paws be warm in snow
Sleep young kit upon thy fur
Rest till morning birds do stir
Let not evil grace your dreams
For ill protect you by any means
Let not the badger disturb your den
While you rest your sleep heavy head
May you nose stay warm in you grotto
And never bothered by mans bellows
May your spirit remain wild and free
While you sleep for you and me
Trust that ill watch you tonight
By the color of the ruby moon light
Let no one find your haven
For which the world's been craven
Let them never see your soft red fur
For then you won't have it much longer
Trust not the lies of man
My little vulpine youngin
Avoid there snares and you will see
The thing called human stupidity
Let your wits ever stump them
May you never hear them hunting
For I worry so much for you
My little kit covered in morning dew
You are strong and you are quick
My lovely little red furred kit
Soon you will leave me but not today
So sleep young kit and rest the day away
