Poetry: Urban violence

by Robert Harrison

Created on: July 07, 2008

What in hell is happening
In the world we live in today
Why is a fellow man
Getting in our way

Children killing children
With clubs and guns and knives
What in the hell is happening
How can we survive

We can blame other things
Vidio things and such
Maybe that is noncence
Its easy to reach and touch

Give a little common ground
Vanity,respect and greed
Put aside the difference
Try the common need

I know we think were to busy
Just to learn and teach
Put our children first
Before they are out of reach

Spend time to air there problems
Do not pass it off as fads
Surely we down,t want violence
In our little lads

We know there,s no quick solution
Anything is worth a try
Or do we, want Not want to bother
Just wait to suffer and cry

Think of all the familie,s
Who had the same consern
Watched there children leave one day
"never to return"

Think of all the parents
Who said "it wont happen to me"
Prey to your god it really wont
We must wait and see

Guide your children daily
Never give up the fight
Spare a thought for others
no one,s allways right
