Scrapbooking for new moms can be a new and exciting adventure. While you are awaiting the arrival for that new little bundle of joy and have extra time to burn (you know you won't after the birth of the baby), preparing a keepsake for you and your child is the perfect way to pass the days. You will have hundreds and maybe thousands of photos being taken after the first several months when your little bundle is born, and having an album waiting and ready to go can be the perfect remedy to show off your new journey into motherhood.
For beginners, if don't have any experience scrapbooking take a class. Many of your local scrapbooking stores offer classes for first time scrappers so that you have ideas, know how to properly use products, as well as thoughts for you to dream up fabulous baby layouts for smashing baby books. Scrapping has become so popular that creating a baby book of your very own can be a scrappers paradise. There are all kind of papers, stickers, rub-ons and stamps that are perfect for a baby book for a baby boy or a baby girl. You will marvel like a kid in a candy store at all there is to chose from.
In choosing a scrapbook for your new little one on the way be sure to pick a book that has the plastic page protectors. These page protectors will keep dust and dirt off your photos as well as preserve them from light that can easily damage and fade your photos. Then make a list of things pages you might like to include such as your baby's first bath, first tooth, first diaper change, your baby sleeping and coming home from the hospital. This may give you some ideas as far as theme papers you can buy in order to begin the page. Then start your layouts with a theme in mind and leave space for where you might place the photos on the page. Protect each page that you create in the plastic pockets of the page protectors so that they are ready and waiting when baby is here to simply adhere the photos to the already prepared pages. And don't forget to leave plenty of room for journaling to remember things dad said or baby did so that you will never forget what happened when your baby came into the world.
These baby books will be something that you will be able to cherish for a lifetime. The spectacular thing about creating your own baby book opposed to buying one is that you can create any type of page you want in order to remember anything you choose!
