How to choose and decorate wedding arches

There are various stunning uses of wedding arches for the wedding day, and this article takes a look at some of the ways in which arches can serve their purpose and symbolism in the wedding ceremony and after the ceremony, when the guests arrive at the reception. These really are symbolic of togetherness and the information contained below tells you how to make the most of what is available to personalize the wedding experience and to make arches a part of what helps frame those photographs which will be shared years after the wedding is over.

Outdoor arches.

Whether or not the marriage is to take place at a Chapel or in a garden environment, outdoor arches have their use, as these tie in the path that the bride and groom take and can be used to make that color coordination and wedding style uniform and all encompassing. For example, metal arches on portable stands can be used outside the Chapel to frame the photos of the Bride arriving at the chapel with their father, but neatly and easily moved to an area where the photographs are later taken, making an ideal backdrop or focal point for photographs of predominant guests, and soft focus photographs of the official kiss.

Metal doesn't sound very romantic, though what is nice about them is that they can be covered with fabrics that blend with the color of the bouquet or colors that bring the bridesmaid dresses and bouquet into a pleasantly pleasing theme. To decorate arches, satin ribbon is very easy to attach, and to wind around the arch, adding little ornamental flowers as the ribbon is wound. Highlights of color, bead-work and greenery can be added to go with the season as well as the theme.

Ceremony arches.

For the outdoor wedding at home, there is no aisle, and as this plays a very traditional role in the marriage ceremony, arches can be used to form a pathway for the bride to take, making the whole concept of the garden wedding in keeping with traditional ideals and ideas. Here, they can also be used to form a really nice arrival point for the bride and groom, framing their arrival to make their vows. These can also be used in a very decorative and functional way for providing a seating area for the bridesmaids and attendants.

For the bridal arch, this should be of a wider type, and here can look very effective for the couple to make their symbolic vows to each other. Here, a lattice-work
