Rainy Days
I love it when it it's raining, I think it is great fun,
Sploshing through the puddles, it's much better than the sun.
I love it dripping off the trees, and dropping off my nose,
And when I take my shoes off I can feel it on my toes.
I do own an umbrella but it's more fun getting wet,
It's sitting in my cupboard and I haven't used it yet.
I also have a raincoat with a hood to keep me dry,
Mum always makes me wear it, and I always ask but why'?
You'll catch a cold', she'll say to me, Put your coat on please',
She'll make me wear my bright blue boots, that go up to me knees.
I run into the garden, drop the coat into a puddle,
Take off my boots, and throw them too, my goodness what a muddle.
A soggy mess sits on the floor, while I am soaked right through,
After playing for an hour, I give a loud Atchoo!'
Uh oh' I think, now shivering, as Mum comes down the path,
Now get inside and pick up those things, I've run you a nice warm bath'.
She wraps me up and smiles at me, a towel on my head,
We run indoors, where it is dry, a warm bath then to bed.
I stay indoors the next day, while the sun shines hot and bright,
Waiting for more rain to come, I pray that day and night.
I really do love rainy days, when the sky is grey,
Please let it rain today', you'll often hear me say,
But no, today was sunny and the sky was very blue,
Maybe tomorrow it will rain and make my dream come true.
