The Battle
Not all wars are fought and won
On a battlefield's bloody plain.
Not all enemies are flesh and blood
Who cause the wounding and the pain.
There are battles that rage within
A troubled young man's aching chest
The caring ones can only give
Their love to help him pass the test.
There are wounds that run too deep
And are hidden from others' sight.
They make it harder for the soul
To find the path that leads to light.
Sometimes prison is not of bars
And there is no lock and key.
Often the prison is one's self
And only Self can set Self free.

It must have been a bitter pill to take
Knowing it controlled you
Every swallow more lethal than the last
What a hell on earth
God-less and Lost
God I seem to have lost you,
Somewhere along the way,
There was a time I felt connected,
Now I can't
She wanders, lost and reeling
In a place she once called home
She wonders why she's feeling
So unloved, so alone
She has a loving
"Broken and Lost"
Because sometimes
when the weather is just creeping right,
eyes stare without blink
inside old mind
Broken and lost with no where to turn
A victim of society, deceived by the norm
People all around me turn up their noses
