Poetry: Lust

by Luis Medel

Created on: July 07, 2008

Strangely common and almost vaguely beautiful.
Bearing fruit to nourish.
Flowers to permeate.
Alluring and seductive.
Blending among foliage like a grain of sand at the beach.
Deny aroma.
Deny the hunger.
Wily charms manifested in soft surfaces and greens and purples.
Inviting, so inviting.
Powers it bears.
A journey for the journey-less.
Fly, fly, fly.
An orgasm for the mind.
A treat for the body.
A lot like love.
Beat, beat, beat.
Breathe, breathe, breathe.
Sweat, sweat, sweat.
Bliss.
Ignorance is the sweetest of friends.
Also the deadliest.
Fog in the alley on the darkest of nights.
Chew, swallow and drop.
The ugly side of beauty leaves little room for sympathy.
Merciless and systematic.
Conquest.
At least the taste was sweet.
