How to plan a wedding in one month

The question has been popped, the ring has been rung, and now it is time to set the date. The eager couple just can't wait so four weeks from tonight they will be man and wife, to have and to hold up the mothers of the bride and groom after the last guest has left and the party is over. Never fear there is a formula to weddings and once you discover it, all you have to do is plug in the variables. The number one thing to remember is that there is no such thing as an ugly wedding. All brides are beautiful and tons of flowers and tulle will hide a multitude of ugly.

First and foremost be reasonable. Time is short so do not languish over hundreds of magazines and websites. More than likely ever since the bride was a little girl she has dreamed of this day, so chances are she has an idea where she wants to go with it. Keep It Simple Sweetie is the key to smooth sailing down the aisle. Once you have an idea of basic colors and special desires, one must find the right place.

Day One: Select the venue

Churches are always available either free with a clean-up stipulation, or they may charge a refundable deposit if the church is left in good order. Otherwise, you might have to pay a fee so make sure the church is to die for before you go headlong.

Homes of friends and neighbors are often inviting and intimate. The draw back here is that often the guest list must be extremely abbreviated due to a lack of space. On such short notice it might be wise to fore go an outside wedding due to the extra work involved.

Professional Wedding Chapels are also a good idea. Many of these facilities offer a variety of additional services such as limousines, flowers and photography. Some even provide light reception refreshments. Opting for this venue will certainly take the stress out of planning because the staff takes care of all the details. Most often all you have to do is pick the day make a few quick color and flower choices, and then show up with your dearly beloved. With only four weeks to go, however, you had better call immediately; especially if you are marrying during a peak time such as June, Valentine's Day, or Christmas.

Day Two, Three and Four: Invite, invite, invite!

The customary time frame for sending wedding invitations is six weeks before the wedding date. However, with four weeks in which to get this done one needs to make some snap decisions about guest lists and wedding stationery. The guest list comes first, then the invitations.

This is a good project for the mothers
