Movie reviews: You Don't Mess with the Zohan

"Let's throw away $21.00, instead of going to a movie again like 'You Don't Mess with the Zohan'." I should have just lit a match to the money, because this movie did not make me laugh more that once or twice, and certainly did not spark an interest in a Zohan II movie, should one hit the theatres next year! Yes, you can often put out fire with fire, but this did not ignite a desire to see such a movie again or fuel a passion to see the star in any upcoming cinema sightings! It was awful!

I generally like "Ben S.", although a "B" actor, he has always pleasantly surprised me. I have noticed recently, that tlelevision advertises a movie with its best 15 seconds, a marketing ploy, and people fall prey to a rainy day movie flick. "You Don't Mess with the Zohan" had humor that can be described as "jerky", if you can call it humor, and I would have been better off renting it for a few dollars. Truthfully, I do not know how the movie business is staying afloat, because one does not even have to wait more than three months to see it from a movie-rental.

Also, how can anyone afford going to the theatres all the time? Anyone getting paid minimum wage, certainly cannot afford the ticket price, and what do families do? Do they pay $100 for the movies, some popcorn and ice cream afterwards? At least if the movie is a good one, it could be somehow justified!Shame on the theatre-goers who do not go in the afternoon. I went after 6 p.m., but as a senior citizen and stadium seating did not exist this theatre. To waste money to see "You Don't Mess with the Zohan" was like throwing food away...sinful!

Although people find humor in their own way, and some prefer dry humor, it is not known who liked this movie! Save your money for something different; perhaps, a new wallet, that you can put all the money that you would normally spend during the summer for the movies! It won't take long to save a hundred dollars, sad, but true!

Just think how much that director got for directing such a movie. It really is disgusting, not to mention what the actors made! I just don't understand it! Does anyone have a conscience as to what is expected when people pay good money and they do not get what they pay for? Where is the justice to trickery that the common man are subjected to? Has anyone thought of that? False advertising is a commonly-used phrase; it was immoral to pay for such a movie. While there were a few funny clips, the movie on the whole was just plain stupid and should not be recommended to anyone! Shame on the production company, and even the writer! It makes me think that any one of us on this site, could do a much better job than what that writer did! He/she slaughtered morality and humor! At least I know that there is hope for all the writers that read our opinions, reviews, poetry, and www.helium.com, a wonderful place to write, enjoy, and get paid! At least writing is a pasttime that doesn't have to cost you money, unlike going to the movies!
