Online multiplayer tips for Call of Duty (Xbox 360, PS3)

Call of Duty 4 happens to be my number 1 favorite online multiplayer game. There's nothing more satisfying then taking down a guy with an M16 and watching a 10 points marker float over his head. I can recall some really good plays such as a two for one cooked grenade kill. Whenever you pull off an incredible and death defying stunt and it works, you feel invincible and you have alot of fun. In total I've spent over a day playing Call of Duty 4 and enjoying it. I also know however that It can be very frustrating when you consistently die and not get any kills. So to help similar frustrations from coming to newcomers and other players, heres some tips for Call of Duty 4 Multiplayer in list format.

1. Keep your cool

I know it sounds corny, cliched, and predictable. But its true. The more angry you get at the game then the more you die. Staying calm and not letting the anger get to is the way to go.

2. Go into battle prepared

Don't make stupid weapon/perk choices. For example: If you set an LMG to be your primary weapon, then the straight of hand perk is a must. Straight of hand quickens your reload time and makes up for the LMG's abysmal reloading time.

3. Don't get your teamates angry

We all know that there are many ways to do this. One time I almost killed another player and he went into last stand. I was just about to finish him off when out of the blue one of my other teamates shows up and finishes him, so he steals my kill and I get the short end of the stick.

4. Don't be a noob

Noobs ruin a game for everybody. If you don't want to be labeled a noob then don't use the perks Martyrdom and Juggernaut. Also, don't use the grenade launcher attachment A.K.A "Noob Tube". Doing any of these puts you at risk of being a major annoyance.

5. Positive Thinking

Before a match loads up I keep telling myself that its just another campaign mission. The reason for this is in the campaign you know you'll win, so putting yourself in this state of mind really affects your performance for the better.

6. Strategic Thinking

Think with logic. If the enemy shoots you once and the red ring of death surrounds your vision, that means he has a sniper rifle. You shouldn't charge him and put yourself at his mercy. Instead, opt to find another route to get up close to the enemy player to take him by suprise.

7. Cook Your Grenades

Simply throwing a grenade gives the enemy to much time to react. If you know an enemy is right around the corner, cook a grenade and then throw it in there, instead of blindly running in with guns blazing. Experiment with grenades as you become better. See how they bounce off walls and how much time you have to hold them until they explode to maximize your effectiveness with grenades.

8. Be Unexpected

If your team is facing off against the enemy team, take routes and perform unexpected tactics. Taking them by suprise by coming around can net you a bunch of kills. Even if you die you'll most likely get a handful of kills unless if you run in shooting from the hip like a spaz, and your team will be greatly helped.

9. Don't Wait

If you get UAV recon, airstrike, or a helicopter, don't wait to use it. Don't wait until you die because theres nothing more disappointing then a match ending before you had the chance to use your helicopter.

10. Careful Choosing

A good primary weapon is probably an assault rifle. If you have the perk Overkill, choose either a shotgun for close quarter encounters, or a sniper rifle to get an enemy thats just to far away for your assault rifle.

I hope anyone reading this takes my advice to heart. Just play the game, enjoy it, and have fun.
