Welcome dear reader to 2007. 2006 was a mild stone in which way our nations will pursue politically and internationally. The American people spoke and gave the reigns of Congress to the Democrats. What are we in for 2007?

The thing I dislike about politics, is that our nation is now being led on what we want verses what is "right!" When a nation abandons their moral compass, the only rutter left to guide us to put our finger in the wind and see which way it is blowing.

Of course politically, that wind is called "polling." What do the American people want? What do they like? How do they rate their political leaders and parties? This is such a dangerous rutter for a nation to follow, for it will lead us into destruction if we are not careful.

A good illustration of this is found in the Book of Exodus. Moses sent out 12 spices to spy out the promised land. They came back with a report to Moses that the land was indeed flowing with milk and honey, BUT! There is always a but isn't there. It is the BUT, that leads a nation astray and into the politics of the wind changing. 10 of the spies came back and gave the report of the BUT! There are giants in the land, and the cities are high with fortified walls and we are but grasshoppers amongst them.

How true is that discernment of the American people today. The Israelites relied on the majorities report of the land to make their decision. For us that report would be from the liberal media, that continues to declare over and over "Everything is wrong." Considering all the television and cable networks 10 of them come from the liberal slant and maybe 2 from the conservative slant like Fox news. The liberal media (10 spies) believe we are grasshoppers in the war on terror and our position as a super-power in the world is diminishing. They continue to bring back the "bad new." They never tell any of the progress we are making on the war on terror or the good things that are being done in Iraq. The Democratic party has promoted this philosophy and is working in unity with the media to present this picture to the American people. Like the Israelites of old, we fell for it in the election of 2006.

We chose to believe the worst, instead of the best. The other two spies, Joshua and Caleb brought a different report to the people. They said, the land is good and flowing with milk and honey. They said their enemies would be like honey and melt under them because God was with them. They said, "let us go up and once and possess the Land."
