With the many organizations available for young women today, only one has withstood the test of time and continues to grow each year. Girl Scouts of the USA is National organization that operates on a local level allowing girls to attend meetings and events with old friends and meet new ones. Learning new crafts, songs, and skills is secondary to learning how to interact with others and lead a purposeful life filled with honesty, compassion, and respect for all forms of life, while looking out for their fellow citizens. Friendships formed through Girl Scouts, whether at meetings, camps, or local Girl Scout events will open up the World for young girls in a safe and meaningful way. Girls will learn about everything from domestics to outdoor survival skills to being a good and honest person with manners. In addition, many states are beginning to offer full tuition college scholarships to girls who earn their Gold Award,the highest achievement a Senior Girl Scout may earn through performing community service.
