Truth unfortunately is subjective these days. Religion is speculative. In most cases, neither is based on progressive study of facts and therefore the comparison of such is impossible. I am however a firm believer that direct experiences does result in a better understanding of ones surroundings etc,and does better help to build the basis for what one considers "truth". Though not everyones idea of truth might be logical or accepted by modern society, the better they are to argue such beliefs based on experience rather then having someone say,"Well I heard that ", or "So and so told me"...Usually referencing someone else in regards to the debate on the absolute truh or the basis behind such doesnt hold up against someone whos been there done it. Religion can be held to these same standards. Id have to say to many people attribute overcoming problems and often adopt there beliefs without directly experiencing it first,or they hold such beliefs being thats all they know,or there parents were Chirstian, etc. Its like the whole science verse Religion thing. Science does progressive study and are always rewriting there ideas, findings, etc, because what they experience and look at usually doesnt coincide with earlier theories, data, etc. Everyday life, for example. We could go through a traumatic event, say a death or a vacation, and people will agree fully with how we feel, yet,do they truly know? Is life to be lived just by going day to day off what other peoples opinions are? What is life if not lived? How is truth to be felt, and how is ones conviction to have any effect on those he or she is trying to convince without truly knowing what it is they are talking about? Besides, experience spawns some of the greatest emotions, both good and bad, that you could ever imagine feeling in life. Whether it be purpose, love, hate, whatever the case, can it honestly be summed up by one idea ,say like religion. Isnt religion just one viewpoint,a viewpoint on how to live(without directly experiencing all life has to offer?) In conclusion,Id have to go with direct experience, being in such that youll never know what mexican food tastes like if you never try it yourself(nice example ,huh?).............................................. .................................................... .................................................... .................................................... .........................................
