I believe that sometimes the heart rules the mind. I know that when I write a poem it is from an experience ruled by my heart. What the heart remembers and cares not to remember is a valued commodity.
Poetry comes from one or more emotions at a time. One single thought in mind like Love, death, sorrow, heartache, seasons of the earth or seasons of time.
Sometimes a person writing a poem is like writing a journal to themselves and sharing it with others. A lot of feeling goes into writing like this, so therefore, it would be considered wirting from the heart and soul of a person.
When a poem can't be measured and is considered priceless it comes from the heart. Once in a while you come across one of these works of art that steals your heart and is forever embedded in your brain. Or you may write one that catches insight of many who have experienced the same circumstances, you can be actually helping someone mend and heal their heart.
That is what I like to do, write from the heart. It flows out onto my fingers with pen in hand and onto the paper in an endless fury until it is complete. Then I type and file it until I share it or want to use it for some other reason.
The heart rules!
