A couple steeped with age, sits in rocking chair
Both with wrinkles on face, and silver their hair
Back and forth they rock, talk of years gone by
Then look at each other, love still in their eyes
Hands that barely clasp, they hold each tight
Not knowing what tomorrow will bring
Least, they're together for tonight
What a journey together, these to have had
Sharing their life's story, happy times and sad
Remembering a time, neither had no pain
The world was theirs to have, everything to be gained
They had many children, and raised them right
Thinking of all of them, and where they are tonight
Knowing they have families, proud they're on their own
Least for tonight, wishing they were home
With tenderness he looks at women tear drops from his eyes
What a wonderful life together, couldn't ask for better wife
She looks back at him, and gives that little smile
Knowing, whatever she would want, he'd go that extra mile
Love from deep within, their love grew with time
Trials and tribulations, made their love only bind
The two rocking chairs now empty, yet memories remain
When thinking of the two that sat their, a love that didn't fade!

I have carried with me,
through every town I chose to flee
into every house I tried to make my home
the only thing that
YOU CAN'T FORGET
You hold your chin up,
higher than you should...
you have so much more pride,
than I ever could.
You walk so
Whisper wind, through the remaining chimes
distant, weak.
The house is peeling, like my skin
The sun is blaring, like my mind.
I
