There are at least a hundred things that have to be done when planning a wedding. One of the most important tasks is going to be the flowers that will decorate your reception and or ceremony site, be held or worn by you and your wedding party and set the overall mood of your most important day. You will be meeting with several different wedding vendors, and the florist is going to be one that you will be putting a lot of faith and trust in. It is critical that the florist knows exactly what your expectations are.

Wedding Florist Overview:

A skilled wedding florist can determine whether or not your arrangements are big, small, budget friendly, expensive, extravagant or simple. Never underestimate the power that flowers will have on your special day. The florist will be able to create romantic arrangements for your tables at the reception, customize your bouquet, decorate the venue and calm your nerves to some degree. She will be able to make recommendations to what flowers are in season, what colors you should choose or whether or not your flowers should be real or silk. She is going to be your best friend and the reason that your wedding back drop is exquisite.

What to Have Done Before Meeting with the Florist:

1. Know the date or time of year that you are planning to get married.
2. Know what time of day your wedding is going to take place- day or night.
3. Determine your wedding theme or colors.
4. Determine if your wedding is going to be casual or formal.
5. Book your ceremony and reception sites and know what the package includes.

Someone who is experienced, professional and that you feel very comfortable in allowing to decorate your special day with flowers. The right florist for you will also:

- Consult with you, listen to your requests, and make proper recommendations.
- Provide you with your desired flowers, depending on the season.
- Work with you on a pre-determined budget, and make alternative suggestions accordingly.
- Work with your fabric samples to coordinate exact colors of wedding scheme with flowers.
- Have a portfolio displaying their past creations for you to view.
- Be able to make suggestions as to what will truly bring out the essence of your wedding.
- Be willing to coordinate and work with your other wedding vendors.
- Guarantee her work, time of delivery and overall quality of service.

Determine which arrangements and how many of each will you need.

2. Bouquets for maid of honor, bridesmaids and other female wedding party attendees
3. Boutonnieres for the groom, male attendants & fathers
