Golfing in Naples, "A Paradise"

Naples is known as the golfing capital of the workld for a reason, it has the most holes per capita ratio in the US. Naples doesn't only offer Golfing, but it also offers top quality beaches and places to eat. Or, if that doesn't satisfy your thirst, the nightlife will light up your life like a candle in the dark.

Eagle Lakes golf Club

This is a very tricky course which Justin Rose, british golfer, is knwon to practise on but I'm not usre if this is saying much, he is british and they're not the greatest at golf! It has 18 holes with a Par of 71, it spans over 7000 yards and is only 6 miles out side Naples. It has the longest tees for a Par 71 and has fantastic amenities. The only let down with this course is a slight lack of scenery, but it certainly isn't a good walk ruined. The highlight for me was the extremely high quality of service from the employees, the price is $109 green fee. 7/10.

Lely Resort, Falmingo
A great course and a personal favourite of mine, noteably played on by the one and only Tiger Woods. It has a par of 72 and is 12 miles outside Naples. The course rating is 73.9 and the slope is 135. It contains probably the best scenery you will get in golfing around Naples and is simply breath-taking. Tiger Woods is rumoured to have compared it to Eden. This is quite an expensive course at $165 green fees, but twilight is slightly less at $120. The best part of this court is the immaculate condition of the greens and fairways, the variation fo bukers and water ameks the course for me. A great course for all players, 8.5/10.

Riviera Golf Club
This is a golf course to avoid, it has a par of 62 but only gets 1/10 due to the lack of all amenities and qualities that I look for in a golf course.

Calusa Pines
My favourite course in the area by far featuring 7215 yards of play and a par 72, this is also one of the most recently developed courses leading to the immaculate facilities and high playing quality, which attracts golfers from the world over. The only lesser qualities are the amenities but these are still of exceptionally high quality. My son likes playing here because it's the only course where he beats me! This is a very challenging course and this is down to the bermuda grass which is slowly becoming more popular and is now used in the US open where possible. In my opinion this is not only the best course in Naples, but also in the state of Florida. 10/10 the best course by miles!

Wyndemyre Golf Course
There are two courses here both of 9 holes making up a full course and they are both of about the same quality. The green however, is my favourite, it has a par of 36 and is very challenging, possibly the most challenging course in Naples. However, it is a private equity course and this can be difficult to get playing rights as they are very selective of their players, this is the same with the gold course. However, if you choose to join you get what you pay for. The green course is just under 3000 yards, whereas the gold course is over 3000 yards, together they make a truly brilliant course. These both feature bermuda grass and the gold course has a course rating over 135, a real challenge. 9/10.

Naples really does have a great variety of courses to offer, the other advantage of Naples is the opportunity to stay at a variety of hotels varyong fomr 1-6 star.
