It has just happened- you may now kiss the bride! Ah, bliss! The stess is finally off, and you are now Mrs. such an such. The day you have been waiting for for so long has finally arrived and suddenly you are now a wife. Here you are, faced with your first dance as husband and wife. What do you dance to?
First off, consider your dance skills. If the two of you aren't the greatest dancers, don't go out and pick something that requires great dancing skills- or you might look a little awkward out there and that may ruin your special moment (then again- it probably will take a lot to ruin it!) However, you probably don't want to look like completele fools, especially if its a medium to big wedding and in front of your friends and family, so you might want to keep this in mind.
If you want to impress your guests, take some dance lessons! It'd be a great way to connect with each other and have some fun, not to mention get some exercise, before the big day! If you want, keep it a surprise. Especially if it's a known fact that you and your future hubbie are not the best on your feet. Then you'll be able to get out there on the dance floor and knock the socks off of your guests!
Next off, pick a song that has meaning to the both of you. It seems less and less likely that people have their own "song" these days but when it comes down to it there usually is a song that has meaning to some people.
For my groom and I, that song is "Lost" by Michael Buble. Neither of us are great dancers, but this song is pretty slow and with practice, I think we'll be able to handle it! I am bipolar, and there are many times when I do feel Lost. The song states that he'll always be there for me, which he has, and on our wedding day, will be promising to always be. It's the perfect song to dance to for us.
And I'm sure you've seen the video on the internet of the couple who broke out dancing from their slow dance in a prepared dance. All of their guests loved it- and so have the millions of people online! If you're into guest entertainment as opposed to sentimental moments, consider something that would shock your guests!
Your first dance together is definitely a part of your wedding reception that you will remember, so take the time to pick a song that you both love and will love to dance to. Make sure that your wedding is everything you always dreamed it would be!
