I spend quite a bit of time throughout the year bashing policies, bashing politicians, bashing the apathy that has swept this country. Anywhere from local governments to the states to the federal level, there is corruption and misguided values run a muck. Many of you blast me for being so negative from time to time. You also say that I have nothing positive to say or that I'm just a miserable depressed repressed negative ogre. Well I am not going to deny that label because it just might be true, because sometimes I sure feel that way. What can I say; I am passionate about things being right.
However there are a few things that I do know and that I can defend. I know that when I present something that is bad or evil, I am then at the same time giving an indication of what I do love. Voicing my displeasure is another way of saying what I do love. I'm identifying the bad, so that the good is understood. It might not sound very happy, but that's just how it is with me. I'm not here to win friends or influence people; I just need to spread the truth.
I also know that despite the fact that this great country has lost its way, it still is the greatest country in the world. There are many things that need to be changed, need to be fixed, and need to be eradicated. It will take more time to fix, than it took to get there, but it can be done. The amount of corruption and illogical situations are killing the freedom and liberties we so dearly love. We do have the framework in place to make it great again and to pursue happiness and freedom which is what America is all about. All things that are true Americana can endure if you take the time to really care. You can make a difference by identifying what is wrong just on the local level.
Our forefathers were brilliant men who give us a chance continually to make amends and prosper if we needed to. So when you are feeling hopeless or angry at the way things are, fear not. Things can better and they will if we want it. We've have had millions of people sacrificing their lives and their time servicing and defending this great country. We have millions more who came here in search of a better place, because it simply is. We owe it to them and their spirits to continue to make America great and better. Don't look for the silly change that Obama offers because it's not real. Don't look for the false leadership in McCain because it's not there. Don't look for your neighbor to care, because he may not. Look at yourself and be the change and let it start with you.
