First of all,give every disabled veterans a round of applause. Then take the time,and ask how can we as Americans support them. I've read a number of newspaper articles,along with watching television specials. Why Uncle Sam's funding and hospital care,is horrible for disabled veterans. Did Americans forget " Walter Reeds Medical Center". Then if you did, wake up. Our disabled veterans have paid an ultimate sacrifice, for every Americans freedom. Are still paying a heavy price. Health Care and Benefits fitting a soldier for serving his country.
Lives lost, families suffering. For anyone who calls herself or himself and American. Don't belittle these people in any way. They deserve the best of everything that life has to offer. If you have never had to deal with what, they have dealt with. Keep your opinions to yourself. Wars have been fought for decades,anyone who is someone has been touched by war.
Your economical background has no place in a judging a person's decision to become enlisted personal. Nor can we label them as something other than who they are. Individuals with choices,and minds of their own. I understand the freedom of speech, but when statements offend disabled Americans. Especially the veterans who served this country, for our freedom. Then reality check is in order.
Americans have had the privileges of living free,on the backs of individuals serving in the wars of past, present and future. Let's take a look at the men and women, that's returning from Iraq now.We give them the hero's welcome. But yet, they can't get simple benefits. The now disable veterans are having trouble getting much needed it medical attention.
Our government is telling them, it didn't occur while deployed in Iraq.
Can you imagine hearing or receiving a letter saying your health concerns,are not related to the war you just finished fighting. Oh! Just return to your normal life. That's easier said than done. I really want to applaud the veterans of previous wars, for rising to the occasion, when our government failed.
They have given countless hours of their time, to support the many disabled veterans in America. Not only disabled, but those in need. Many seeking to keep homes, utilities, food and medicines etc. Their job don't stop after the wars, but continue to build communities. Also help rebuild lives,give hope when their comrades think their is none. For what ever reasons their disability occurred, let's not strip their dignity of being human. Hey for those with criticism of the disabled, remember they became this way defending your freedom. Leading by example, set the pace for a better America. Ask yourself and anyone you may come in contact with. What does it takes to be a good soldier, can I feel those shoes. Do I forget the individuals that paved the way for me. Veterans are Champions of Courage.
