Poetry: Take me away

by Alexandra Wilson

Created on: July 04, 2008

Bars hold this frail frame
Purging tears from solid rocks
Not far beyond,
The yard of liars
Freedom taunts
What I sold
To be stone

A sly smile
antagonistic
a butterknife
fashioned into ambush
Trusting desperate,
broken men to stand cover
House broken to a bell
