How virtual flings can do as much damage as real life affairs

Virtual flings are increasingly on the rise. There are dozens of internet sites that report to have singles looking for love everymoment of the day. The baffeling industry is the married people that go on Ashley Madison. They cater to clients that are married, looking for a fling. Is there no shame in using infidelity as an online cash crop?

Virtual flings have all of the makings of all the other flings, save for the physical location. Most virtual flings involve emotional attachment, suggestions for physical attachment, and promises to be able to produce both of those in person at a later date.



Some women report wanting to be desired and the lack of attention at home. The internet has provided them easy access to cheat without ever leaving the house. The same opportunity to married men, that have been doing so long enough that there are web sites and forums formulated for single woment to be able to spot them online. Single women are often targeted by married men online and do not disclose their married status to them.

Women and Men that are hurt by lovers through online infidelity should seek the same support systems as those that had 'real life' affairs. An online relationship can be as real as a 'real life' affair without the sex. Sometimes the affair can last long enough to build up to a meeting in person, or a hotel stay or such of the nature. An online affair has 'harmless' written all over it because your online lover may live a hundred miles away. A lie is a lie, and a broken vow, a broken vow. Sex does not conotate an affair. An affair can be an emotional affair that alienates your spouse or lover from being your support and forcing an emotional distance. An online affair can create a problem that the cheater is spending more time trying to lure potential online playmates or conversing with the one he or she has to the point the other spouse is suspicious, unfufilled, distant, and hurt.



Online affairs cause all of the same problems except for the obvious, unplanned pregnancy or std. It is uncommon but not unheard of. The intensity of the affair can bring it closer and closer to physical sex. The inhibition to meet in person will deteriorate as a relationship is strengthened and built on. A marriage is more suseptible to online affairs, due to they afford more confidentiality. A password, a username, IM messages, all of these can be confidential and unable to be found by a spouse especially on a computer owned by an employer or friend. It makes it
