How to gain weight safely

Let's begin this article with an important but often unspoken fact. It is not only over weight people that have an image problem. The truth is that most skinny people also have an image problem. So, if you are a scrawny bloke or a stick-thin lady, don't feel any guilt about wanting to put on a bit of weight. Even in America where most people - especially ladies - are keen to have a slim figure, wanting to put on weight is not a crime.

So, do want to gain weight and do so safely? If your answer to both questions is yes, then, the tips below are bound to do you a world of good.

1 EAT MORE FOOD
This is the simple and straight forward thing to do. The body requires a specific amount of calories each day. The extra calories are simply stored as fat. So, if you take in more calories than your body needs, you simply begin to gain weight.

2 EAT MORE GOOD FOOD
Now, there is no point in feasting on junk food just because you want to gain weight. So, eat good food and eat nutritious food. Good food in this context refers to whole grains, fruits, nuts and vegetables. Examples of such good include rice, potatoes, bananas, plantains, avocados, carrots and peanuts.

3 INCREASE YOUR SNACKS
If you want to gain weight, your regular two or three square meals a day won't do the magic. So find time on your schedule to indulge in snacks. These may include sandwiches, bananas, peanuts, chocolates, ice cream and cakes. You enjoy thrill you get from eating such 'near-illegal' delicacies and also increase your small size to more impressive one.

4 EXERCISE
Now listen! All that extra food is bound to result in a healthier and more corpulent look. However, you do not want to become over weight or fat. So do the right thing. Move your body. Jog, take long walks, swim or play foot ball. The aim here is not lose the weight you are gaining but to remain healthy and agile even as you get bigger. Understand this medical fact a big guy that exercises enjoys better health than a small guy who does not.

5 CONTROL
Aha! Now you've got to the point where you don't want to gain more weight than you already have. This is the time to control your weight. Remember that you don't want to become a sack of corn. You just want to look well fed so that people will not mistake you for a starving refugee from Sudan.

You can gain weight safely and sensibly if you follow the tips discussed above. So, do the right thing. By all means, put on some weight and give yourself a confident, successful and well-fed look.
