Fiber is very important to get your digestive system run smoothly and if you want to protect yourself from diseases like heart diseases, constipation and high bold pressure you better consume sufficient amount of fiber in your daily dietary routine.
In simple words for optimum health good fiber intake is a must. Here is the list of natural high fiber foods which you can eat regularly and stay fit and fine.
FRUITS RICH IN FIBER
Apples, avocado, bananas, berries mainly blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, guava, kiwi, oranges, pears and prunes contain excellent sources of fiber. And if you are fond of dried fruits always keep a packet of Figs, Raisins, Apricots or Dates with you to munch during the daytime while working or travelling.
VEGETABLES HIGH IN FIBER
Mushrooms, potatoes with skin, pumpkin canned, peas - black-eyed peas, green peas , peppers
rhubarb, spinach, sweet potatoes, broccoli, turnip greens, carrot, brussels sprouts, cabbage, tomatoes and cauliflower are rich in fiber. The list is long but do not worry my friend no need to eat all of them just choose your favourites vegetables from the list and eat them on regular basis to keep your fiber intake in perfect harmony.
GRAIN FOODS RICH IN FIBER
Wheat bran cereals, Whole wheat spaghetti, wheat flakes, barley, wheat bran muffin, fig bars, wheat tortilla, oatmeal, brown rice, corn tortilla, pasta, couscous are good sources of high fiber grain foods.
LEGUMES HIGH IN FIBER
Make kidney beans, lima beans, lentils, soya beans and black beans a part of your dietary habit as they have tremendously rich in fiber.
NUTS AND SEEDS RICH IN FIBER
Almonds, walnuts, peanuts, cashews, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds are high in fiber to a great extent.
High fiber diet is very useful for people who wish to loose weight. The reason being that fiber in itself does not contain any calories at all but when you consume fiber there is a strong feeling of being full because fiber has excellent water absorbing abilities.
If you eat an apple it is more fulfilling than drinking a half cup of apple juice though both of them contain the same calories.
Remember that always chew your food properly and specially foods high in fiber often require more chewing which in return makes you eat less.
I believe that if you eat the high fiber foods on daily basis you will automatically stay healthy and live long.So from now on go on fiber diet right!
