Have you ever had the opportunity of living in a "haunted" house? I mean a house that is occupied by spirits or ghosts. Perhaps it was just a house or place where other strange things frequently occurred. I have lived in four such houses during my lifetime.
Since I was under four years of age when living in the first house, I must rely upon the memories of my siblings and parents for its history. Occurring over forty-nine years ago, some of the information might be a little inaccurate, but the events are real. This house was located in Virginia, somewhere between Virginia Beach and Norfolk. It had remained empty for about ten years before my family moved in. We soon found out why!
All seven members of my family started having the same dream. We would wake up screaming, and then become even more terrified as we noticed the lights were flickering on and off. A knife floated through the air, with no one visibly holding it. Often, other things would move by themselves too. We later found out that a police officer had murdered his wife there. We were proud of ourselves though, because we held the record for living there the longest! We had stayed there for two weeks before my parents decided that enough was enough!
The next place I can remember a little more. We lived there for several years. This house, located in Warren, Michigan, was not quite as scary as the first house was. It was just a case of all seven members of the family having the same dreams of being murdered. What especially made these dreams scary is that all seven people dreamed the exact same dream at the exact same time. In addition, on several occasions, we would see things move by themselves, out of the corners of our eyes. My sister and I were both afraid of being alone in the house, or of going upstairs by ourselves. It always felt like someone was watching us. Moreover, it was usually in our room that the objects moved by themselves. However, I am not sure this one would be considered actually haunted, since we did not see any ghosts or spirits.
The third place was a mobile home that my family lived in for many years. It had been in a fire and then sold as salvage. My parents bought it, and the whole family worked to remodel it to fit our own needs. This trailer was not haunted when we moved in, but became haunted when my paternal grandfather died. He had promised my father that if there were life after death, he would come back and let my father know about it.
My father was afraid of such
