That first dance as husband and wife - the first song - is suppose to be so perfect. Ask any women about planning her wedding and I about guarantee she mentions the songs for the reception. Of course the wedding itself is a big deal, however, the dances are a bigger symbolism showing romance. Come on, when it comes to women and romance, nothing is more important.
Women tend to put a large emphasis on planning every detail to perfection. When it comes to the big day - a day no guest will forget - from the first step toward the alter to the "thanks for coming," must sound gracious and look amazing.
So how do you choose the one song in which will always be known as "your song?" Well I guess that depends on you. Everyone has different taste in music. Also, the reason for liking a song differs from person to person. I bet if you asked several different people why they listened to country, you'd get varied answers. One may say for the lyrics, another for the slow tunes, and a third probably hates country and rarely listens to it.
Oddly, that is simply the beginning to choosing a song because once the bride and groom-to-be decide on a style of music, they must then determine the era from which the song will come. And the artist, speed of the song, when to play it at the reception. It will even matter how long you two dance to the song cause not all parties choose to remain moving to the end.
Though it sounds silly to consider some of these factors, it plays a role in the song that will become your fate to speak. - One thing you could think about and would really speed up the process allowing you more time on other aspects of the wedding, would be to use the first song you ever heard, kiss to, danced to, or simply listened to with one another. - Remember you may have more or less layers to the song you are desiring to use for this all important part of the ceremony.
Despite the layers used in this decision or how well thought-out it is, it will still only be your song so try to relax and enjoy the process. No one else cares what song you play and dance to. The guest party is only there to witness the occasion and be happy for the big step you both decided to take. Everything else matters for memories. Therefore, if it'll make you happy ten years from now, it is the right choice. Basically, can you see yourselves listening to it, still liking it, at the renewing of your vows one day or on a getaway anniversary trip? If so, it's a go? Otherwise, probbaly better off a no.
