Aspirations
Aspirations built from birth
Some of the truths we must unearth
We admire things with much distant thought
We sway and squirm through things were taught
We feel the sense of woe and remorse
As we watch others stay there course
We ponder change and fight demise
We want to brighten someone's eyes
With what we know From whence we came
We live and learn and seek our fame
We note the way we want to be
But time is slow and so are we
Although we often
Think were lost
We stand up tall
And bear our cross
And when the past becomes a still
The future opens and then we will
