The life of an African immigrant Most of the African immigrants are usually confused when they arrive in the United States, these is because of not being in a developed environment. Most people are usually surprised and rely confused upon arriving at Jf Kennedy airport in New York where you meet all kind of people and many taxi drivers asking you where you are going yet that is not even you destination, immediaterly after being checked and cleared at the airport you don't have anybody to guide or even direct you to the next place and these is you first time in search a big airport, so you start asking people for direction and they tell go upstairs take a train to gate 8 then go left and you will see the airline you are looking for, these is usually rely hard coz the place is usually congested the government should find a way to assist people for direction in search place because not everybody is smart in locating places.
New things continue on happening, now after all that saga if for example you are a student you find someone waiting for you at the airport ready to take you to school, life in school is usually so hard because everything is new beginning with students, these is what i call true culture shock ,startin with the environment especially during winter especially now that you are never used to that kind of cold weather, Things became even more complicated when it comes to foods, the only thing people know is French fries and maybe burgers and just a few things, so these one rely gives people a hard time trying to adapt and fit in because you can't stay hungry.
The last but not the list is the language, its usually hard coz you have to try and twang like the Americans do to try to fit in coz especially if your country was colonized by the British they rely don't get most of the words of what you are saying and its because we pronounce words with an "a" and the americans with an "e" like we say bank and the people hear say it like benk, and it gets even more worse when you come to community with black americans where its like they have thier own way of talking, the is usually a a very challenging lifestyle..
That is a part of an immigrant from Africa and I believe pretty much it happens the same to immigrants from other nations, I know the government has supported people like refugees and they have rely taken care of them by even employing people to help them to fit in the American life by showing them stuffs they didn't know.after a long time it feels rely good when you get to tell these stories to people and families back at home how life treated you for the first few years but all in all at list its usually a hard task for every knew person who comes to these country from a nation that is not used to these kind of enviroment and i believe its even harder for people who are from an non english speaking country.
