Ten Benefits Of Homeschooling Your Children
For parents who have children, it is a tough question to face. Do they send their children to school each morning or not? If you decide to do homeschooling, there is the benefit of not having to get up early each morning. You don't have to worry with getting them dressed for the weather and give them directions for a zillion different things. Then there is the waiting to see if and when your children will go home.
Homeschooling allows parents to be more in command of those childhood influences that seem to affect plenty of children these days. Your child's growth and development is in your hands and not in the hands of the schools, teachers, principals and other students. You can decide what your child should and should not learn. One of the better benefits of homeschooling is the fact that you have the power to change what curriculum your child is taught. This is something public and private schools cannot offer.
When you homeschool your children, you can give them the individualized attention they are unable to obtain in a regular school setting. For example, say your daughter is having issues in Science. If she is doing exceptional in Math or Language Arts, then you can reduce learning on those subjects and concentrate more on the one she is having difficulty on. The advantage of homeschooling means there are no set times for studying and teaching. Should the child need more time on that particular subject, there is no pressure to learn it within a time period. How quickly she picks up the harder subject will depend on her and her alone.
Another benefit to homeschooling your children is it becomes a family affair. Parents are involved in each step of the learning process. Family activities can involve field trips and science experiments. In turn, parents and children spend more quality time together, which can strengthen the bond between them. When the child is studying, games, chores and projects take on a life of their own and involve the entire family. When you homeschool your children, you are still giving them chances to make choices and decisions but better ones without all the negative pressure that can come from their peers.
While some competition is good for children, it is limited for homeschooled children. Your child has no real reason to prove himself to other children or you. Thus, the confidence he has remains unbroken. Parents understand the needs of their children the most. For this
