Networking helps promote a start-up business by creating a buzz around you, your products and services. The end goal of using networking in promotions is to help brand your business.

The key is connecting with others who have similar interests, aspirations or ideas. The use of networking in promoting a start-up is a key element in every business, particularly in the start-up stage.

Unlike the elements of advertising and marketing, promoting a business is the anchor that ties these two elements together to form a strong foundation. You will reach your audience and garner customers through out the life of your business.

When you establish a network, it helps if others can see how they can benefit from your promotional activities. A good promotion provides something beneficial to your network, that will cause them to want to be a part of it.

Promotion is about getting the news out about your business through activities and events, where your products and services are the stars. It is a vehicle and a tool.

When networking is integrated into the promotion angle of your business plan, it will assist in mapping a clear course to expedite the financial needs of advertising and marketing campaigns as well.

You can then include primary budget needs for this aspect of start-up. Many start-ups find themselves under funded as a result of a business plan that does not speak to the promotional aspects of growth.

Integrating a part of your budget for networking activities into your business plan is a wise action. You don't want to run out of steam, or finances to back you up in the middle of a promotional campaign that is generating buzz.

When a start-up company arrives at the stage of their new venture, where they are sure of where it's headed, and what they have to offer, promotion becomes a much clearer goal and networking will become a more defined process.
