Fortress of Solitude
The places that we hide
Allow the walls to surround our souls
The places that we crave
Bring meaning to our very being
Escape the pain, to ease our minds
Find a place of rest
Leave this world, to fight the flames
Before it burns us out
Hiding as we've done before
Away from them that hurt us deep
Sitting alone, thinking, wishing
Hoping they won't return again
Fortresses built inside our heads
Walls cannot been seen by human eyes
Suffering holds the key
Fear holds us back
