Poetry: Unconditional love

by Cassandra Latisse

Created on: July 03, 2008

I will cross the seas for you
Despite the raging storms of fury.
Where the mer-folk dare not go I'd tread,
As long as you can say you love me.

Everest I'll scale for you
Without Sherpa or equipment.
Meaningless, the altitude, the white peaks
As long as you can say you love me.

I'll tunnel to Egypt, once again
If you'd be waiting at the end.
Dirt in my eyes won't be any trouble
As long as you can say you love me.

Taj Mahal, I'd build, no problem
When I know that you'd be there.
I'd remake it, with my bare hands
As long as you can say you love me.

The revolution I would start
Lacking arms and gift of speech
To gaze into those crystal eyes
Would be enough, if you loved me.

And though I would, if you'd give me a chance
I probably should, just to see you again.
I'd do it all, nevertheless
Even if you said you loved me.
