Children are the most wonderful, most ingenious people on the face of the Earth. Their imagination, like their energy, is unlimited. If they believe that they can do something, they will do it, and they will not let anything stop them. I know that this is true for my kids. They will think up things, and will continuously work on it until they are finished. If, for whatever reason, they are not able to complete what they are doing, I will do my best to help them finish what they are working on. I do not think that there is nothing that a child can not do, especially when their imagination comes into play. If nurtured properly, a childs imagination can go on forever. You can give a child the simplest thing in your house, and they can come up with a half a dozen things, or more, to use it for.
Robert is a very imaginative child. He can take something as simple as a tissue paper roll, the cardboard part, or a paper towel roll, the cardboard part, and make binoculars, telescope, magnifying glass- no glass of course, oar(s) for a boat, or a sword for playing pirate. He will also make his own eye patch, hat, and hook. He will also make his own boat from time to time. He will them make extras for everyone else, depending on his mood, so that they can play with him. Robert has even made morraccas, and homemade bubbles, for his brother Carl Ray. Possibly the greatest gift that Robert has given to Carl Ray is when he reads to him, when he asks, without complaining. Robert also gave Carl Ray a giant bag of oversized building blocks for this past Christmas, which he still plays with to this day.
There are three things that Carl Ray has given to me that I found very precious. Two I received for this past Valentines Day and Mothers Day. And the third thing was a Christmas ornament that he made when he was in Kindergarten. The Christmas ornament was a hard cut snowflake, teacher did the cutting. In the middle of the snowflake there is a picture of him surrounded by red lace that was glued on. The outside edge of the lace has white glitter glued to it, toppedoff with a green ribbon for hanging. The ornament is safely put up and only comes out at Christmas time, so that it can be put on the Christmas tree. The gift the I got for Valentines Day was a handmade placemat. The placemat cansists of a large white, lace backgound with golden lace decorations, and a larger picture of him in the center. To keep it from being ruined it was covered with clear laminating paper. So
