Adding a Water Garden To Relax

Always begin by deciding what kind of garden look you would like to have. A water fountain is a good feature. The water fountain may be alluring for wildlife. Ponds, pools, waterfalls and garden fountains might attract birds. The birds may think of these as birdbaths. I personally am a bird watcher. If you or a dog or cat owner your pet will probadly like the fresh water and drink it for refreshment. If they decide to go for a swim in it you could always put up a fence around it. Or make a natural border around a pond with beauitful colorful tropical flowers or lush green plants.

Water gardening can be a relaxing hobby. It is fun to set up and enjoy what you created. It is science in your own backyard. A minature eco-system with water, plants and living creatures. You can add fish to a pond and watch them swim. Large Gold fish or Koi fish are excellent pond fish. The fish will grow according to the size of your pond. The larger the container the bigger the fish get.

If you don't want to dig up the back yard. If you have a patio, pool area or other small space you can still put a small fountain there. Even a wall fountain is relaxing to look at.These fountain's are small and easy to set up. They usually have flowing water with stones around the sides. Selection of stones is a matter of perference. There are many beauitful ones you can buy or even find sometimes.Another nice addition could be sea shells and a light.

Consider carefully lighting it can make a dramatic difference. Three types of lighting effects are LED, Halogen and Solar. LED lights can last for up to 100,000 hrs. They are very bright lights. Halogen inderwater lights put out a nice soft glow . They have a calming effect. Solar lights save on energy but the drawback is they only last for a short period of time.

The most commonly found material for large fountains are cast stone contrete or fiberglass. Cast stone is very strong and will hold up for a long time. If you choose fiberglass it is lightweight. Experts recommend not to buy plastic because it doen't hold up as well and may fall apart. It is also a good idea to have a quiet water pump so there is less distraction. A loud one scares animals and fish. Water filters are a must to keeping the water clean and free of alagae.

You can take the easier way and buy a starter kit at your local hardware store . Kits contain everything you need to begin such as the container, tubing, pump, and electrical equipment. Or use your imagination and design your own. With a little research and time you will really have a good experience.
