Doing yoga for stress management

Introduction:

Stress is an undesirable, non specific, conventional basic response pattern to various external stimulations. These stimulation are caused by various factors like the way of living, inefficiency in coping with the growing demands of life. Ever distracting scientific technology, speed factor that hags on every walk of life, disharmonious and non holistic living. The following paragraphs are an attempt to throw some light in narrating the stress related factors and the remedial measures, that are suggested in yoga.


Stress is imbalance at the physical level and the mental level, leading to myriad health related hazards. It is the unprecedented speed factor in the modern age and the demanding situation causes stress related ailments. Imbalance at he emotional level manifest as upsurges caused by strong likes and dislikes. Lack of holistic knowledge and lopsided outlook, at the subtler level are the chief causes for havoc at the grosser level.

In understanding the concept of stress; we consider both developed and under developed sectors of the world. Scientifically highly advanced countries face not only the advantages of such innovations, but also the challenges posed by them. The accelerated, sensitive and hyper active sharp mind of modern man is exerting pressure on the physical system to run in parallel with its mad rush. Inefficient to meet the challenge posed by the intellectual system, the physical system is breaking down.

Where as in the other part of the world; marked by underdevelopment and un development situations, hypoactive manifest as lethargy and slumberous state of living. This is characterized by stagnation and lack of impetus. Here the most pertinent problem is of basic necessities like food, clothing and shelter. Most of the villagers in under developed countries are vulnerable to such a state of laziness, that even hunger and poverty can not drive them to work. Vis-a-vis, such a state of affair is not unusual in developed countries, where the living style is marked by sedentary type. Here also high calorie nutritious food and material comfort causes inertia among the masses.

Languishing is not only confined to physical level; it also dominates at the mental level. Tremendous break through in the scientific technology, have replaced manual labour, automation at all levels have replaced human thinking capability; leading to intellectual lethargy in most of the developed
