Poetry: Angels

The Angels

Majestic entities of God's realm,
shimmering in Heaven's Light.
Standing here at my bedside,
come to take me home tonight.

Lifting me, weightless, from this body,
that has grown old and worn.
There is still strength in my soul,
though the vessel is tattered and torn.

Don't cry for me my sweet husband,
Do not weep my children dears.
The Angels have come to take me,
and my heart shall have no fears.

On ivory wings made of satin feathers,
they will fly me on home.
Never again will I be hurting,
never will I be alone.

So be joyous in this moment,
though I know your journey will be long.
Just think of me in heaven,
and no that I am never truly gone.

There are Angels watching over,
they will help you find your way.
Then long into the future,
they'll bring you home someday.
