A Little Pleasure
Nothing's quite as pleasant
as a burp from down below,
a resonating gurgle or
a percolating burble,
a cacophonous disturbance
that you draw up from your toes.
I can't describe the pleasure
of the easing of the pressure
when you lose your inhibition
and your gaseous condition.
So, the next time that you've eaten
far too much than what you should
and your stomach is distended
and you really wish you could
forget that you are being rude,
make some room, digest your food.
Reach down deep and draw a crowd
then let it rip,
belch long and loud!
I'm sure you won't regret it.
I'm convinced, for then you'll know
that nothing's quite as pleasant
as a burp from down below.
