Poetry: Dreaming of you

by Clide Beasley

Created on: July 02, 2008   Last Updated: July 03, 2008

The scent of sandalwood
In perfectly soft skin.
The color of shaven pine.

Long and tall
Strength and
Rhythm and
Stupidity and
Lust and
Childlike love and
Perfected imperfection and
Arrogance and
Shady-ness and
Faith and
Intolerance and
Humor:

I dream of you.

Heart shaped lips
Always ready
For a kiss.
Plastic and
Sincere and
Uncomfortable and
Mischievous
Smiles:

I dream of you.

Real and
Not real.
Truthful and
Full a half-truths.
Beautiful and
Not beautiful.

I swoon,
I hum,
I cuss,
I groan,
I laugh,
I cross my legs,
Rub them together
Like a cricket:

I dream of you.

Eyes wide open;
'Can't trust you,
Eyes closed.

Gotta dream of you,
WIDE
AWAKE.

Heh, heh, heh!
