Yes, stumbling blocks steppingstones to a child's success. Normally, kids always see everything as a giant playground. They like to try, learn and explore new things without thinking consequences. When they started to learn how to walk, they did it happily and laugh when they raised after being fallen down. The fall itself is considered to be new experience for the kid. Only in a very rare circumstances, such accidents, they will stop doing the same activities (and sometimes crying). Things often get worse if the adults who accompanying the kids do not know how to respond on the child's activities. They often put lots of prohibitions to limit the kids activities, in order to not distract the adults comfort or activities. They even put some unnecessary punishments to teach the kids learn (sometimes) unrealistic consequences. For example, if the kids fall, they start to angry. This situation will put the mental into a situation in which if the kid falls, he will not only hurt by the fall itself but also by the people around. The latter is certainly an unneccessary punishment that will mentally burn down the kid. It should have been sufficient for the kids to experience the punishment by the wound that he caused after the fall. The mental pressure accumulated from the situation like that is actually more seriously parasitic than it would appear. You can not see the mental pressure physically, but it limits the child potential to grow. The kids will start being afraid of new things, more pesimistic and passive. This is not a normal situation. In this situation, stumbling blocks would definitely frustrated the kids.

In order to ensure that the stumbling blocks steppingstones to a child's success, one must be sure the mental situation and the physical environment of the kids. The kids must be mentally healthy to receive any consequences of the stumbling blocks and they must also be in a friendly environment to give appropriate respond to the kids regarding the consequences. The kids will certainly feel some discomfort of failing. Let them feel the real pressure and process the feeling. It will sometimes take time for the older kids that are not accustomed for the pressure to handle the feeling. Younger kids who always happy to try new things (including failing) without unneccessary punishment will always happy to try new things without problems. Puberty will certainly add some more discomfort but it can also provide more motivation if the kids is mentally healthy. The physical environment, including adults around, would certainly contribute the kids success. It is generally difficult to expect the kids to be a successfull lawyer coming from the crime family.
